Corpus Separatum Jerusalem
___
#OccupyTLV, February 5 - When I was a child in Haifa, there were many stray dogs in the streets. If kids threw stones at them when they copulated, they could get locked.  They would try to run away, limping, screaming in pain.  Neither would have fun any longer, but they could not separate.  They could die.

That was my standard dinner-party response when asked during my many years in the United States for my opinion of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  There were no follow-up questions...

Now, the situation has changed.  The couple may be getting ready for surgical intervention.

As is often the case, the surgeon is the one most likely to benefit from the operation.     Pax Americana in the middle east may be one of the last acts of significance of the american empire before it is eclipsed by China.  Even with Israel, US influence is in decline, as demonstrated in the effective triangulation by China of the United States and Israel in the Bank of China case in the US District Court in DC.

Israel is the second most likely to benefit from such agreement, because the next time around, the surgeon would be the Chinese enforcer.   With it, the notion that three of the least credible governments around, namely United States, Israel, and Palestine, are permitted to negotiate the future of Jerusalem is ludicrous.  International law in this matter is clear:  Jerusalem and Bethlehem are part of "Corpus Separatum Jerusalem".  As a descendant of Hebronites and for the benefit of all involved, I propose that Hebron should become part of it as well.

The evolution of Corpus Separatum Jerusalem as a place of free speech and preservation of human knowledge in an age of looming darkness would become one of the greatest achievements of mankind and the Abrahamic religions, like the truths of the prophets.
