2016-06-16 US: The Constitution is void
========================
Efforts are underway to piecemeal restore constitutional and civil rights.
Here: Efforts to curb routine spying on all Americans by NSA.
The Fourth Amendment, which prohibits searches and seizures without a probably cause and duly made warrant.
"t's been three years since Edward Snowden blew the whistle on mass surveillance. Despite huge public outcry and plenty of evidence that these programs don't make us safer, the intelligence agencies are still violating our privacy rights and spying on Americans (and non-Americans on American soil) since 2011 without warrants.
Now, we have a chance to fight back, but we don't have much time. The proposed amendment would:
Ban the NSA from conducting "backdoor" searches of their databases information about Americans, and
Ban the NSA from mandating that private companies add backdoors to the encryption standards that are in place to keep technology users safe from malicious data thefts.
This amendment has passed in the House the last two years, but leadership has killed it by ripping it out of spending bills each time."
